Compliance with Standards

Ensuring Respiratory Safety: Fit Testing Solutions Aligned with AS/NZS ISO 16975 Standards

Testing services align with the mandatory requirements outlined in AS/NZS ISO 16975 for the Selection, Use, and Maintenance of Respiratory Protective Equipment.

It is imperative to complete fit testing before an employee's initial use of a tight-fitting respirator. Additionally, fit testing should be repeated when there are changes in the respirator model or make, significant alterations in body weight, or modifications to the face sealing area (such as scarring or significant dental work).

Occupational Noise Assessments

Managing noise levels is crucial for preventing hearing loss and other health issues. My comprehensive Noise Assessment services help your business comply with the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulation 2022. A Noise Assessment systematically evaluates workplace noise levels, measures employee noise exposure, and identifies sources of excessive noise. The goal is to determine if noise levels exceed exposure standards and recommend measures to reduce noise exposure.

Managing Workplace Noise: Essential for Health and Compliance

Understanding the Impact of Excessive Noise and Meeting WHS Regulation 2022 Requirements

01

Excessive Noise in the Workplace Can Lead To:

Hearing Loss: Prolonged exposure to high noise levels can result in permanent hearing damage.

Reduced Productivity: Noise can be a significant distraction, leading to decreased efficiency.

Health Issues: Continuous exposure to loud noise can cause stress, high blood pressure, and sleep disturbances.

Regulatory Compliance:

Non-compliance with noise regulations can result in legal consequences and financial penalties.

02

The Work Health and Safety (WHS) Regulation 2022 Outlines Specific Requirements for Managing Workplace Noise, Including:

Exposure Standards for Noise: Employers must ensure that workers are not exposed to noise levels exceeding an 8-hour equivalent continuous A-weighted sound pressure level of 85 dB(A) or a peak sound pressure level of 140 dB©.

Noise Assessments: Employers are required to conduct noise assessments in areas where there is a risk of exposure to noise above the exposure standards. These assessments must be performed by a competent person.

Control Measures: If the noise assessment indicates that exposure standards are exceeded, employers must implement control measures to reduce noise exposure. These measures can include engineering controls, administrative controls, and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Audiometric Testing: Employers must provide audiometric testing for workers who are frequently required to wear hearing protection due to noise exposure. This testing should be conducted at least every two years.

Training and Information: Employers must provide workers with information and training on the health effects of noise, the purpose of noise assessments, and the correct use of control measures and PPE.
